Kaz, only now catching up - sorry. Cherry eye is a fairly common thing in dogs and the operation is quite a quick one; Karls dog Toby had it and he recovered really quick. It always amazes me how resilient animals are compared to humans.
One thing I would highly recommend though is to buy one of these if you don't already have one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_no ... fte+collar and use that instead of the plastic cone most vets send the pets home with. The collar can be folded back so Pepper can eat normally and then pushed forward again once finished. It's easier for them to walk around and sleep and less risk of damage to your home when they bash into everything
