Good morning Friday

A place to chat with friends, old and new

A busy morning, with a few new bods. One couple walked in and I thought, I know you from somewhere ;)

Managed to have a chat with them later. They used to live and work in Moncarapacho, just up the road from where we used to live and we have mutual friends  So many people moving up from the Algarve now.

A lovely lunch at the Palma. We had one of the cheapo dailies. Carne a Portuguesa, which is pork, slowly cooked until it falls apart, with onions, garlic, diced deep fried potatoes, rice and bizarrely, chopped up pickled veg on top, which cuts through the rich sauce. Lush.

Then La Diva wouldn't start, and by the time he managed to work the phone, I was almost home

Took him to Mario's, his son came along and said he has the same problem with his Merc, something to do with the key, Use the spare, he said, or keep it with you all the time

That car has to go

Grumpy now shattered, first time he's been out in a week. Having a kip.

I also spoke to a friend, whose husband cleans pools locally, to see if he could come up here and just give Grumpy a hand. I can't do it, so hopefully Artur will be coming up next week.

Hope it wasn't too exciting Jen ;) xx

I hope you'll soon settle in ok, dear Saundra (((x)))

Sorry to be so late on parade! Been out nearly all day - SW meeting first thing, then a coffee in the nearby cafe with Mick, Em and Dave, and then up to Edge to see how their daughter Sophie is getting on with the renovations to their cottage up there :) It's all really taking shape, they're still not fully moved in as they're sleeping and eating at her partner's mum's place - the kitchen and bathroom aren't in yet. They had to put a new roof on, knock down some walls, and pull out the old kitchen and bathroom.

The views across the Painswick valley from their bedroom window are something else! We drove up there via the pretty route, through Painswick. I will never take the beauty of the countryside and old buildings here for granted. It takes my breath away every time.Love

Round to D's to see her after that, then home to sort the washing and do a few bits.

Love to all :) xx
