Pepper's been to the vet, for the throwing up last night, and they aren't too sure what is wrong. She (vet) also found some blood around her anus, so she's passed a bit of blood too

She's had kaolin, some antibiotics, an anti-emetic, and been given some 'delicate tum' food If she passes blood again, or is still sick despite the anti-emetic we are to take her straight back. She's very tender, and hated having her tum felt We've been told to expect some diahorrea (sp) from the anti-biotic

Feeling worried now, and hoping it isn't anything serious

Kaz, is there a chance she may have eaten something she shouldn't have when she was out walking? Something that sort of now just needs to work its way through it's tummy. Provided all is OK and once she's finished the delicate tum food try her on some plain boiled chicken with rice

Thanks Ria The vet did ask something similar, but we can't think of anything. I hope it is something simple like that, and she'll soon be better, but you do worry don't you? Especially as they can't talk, like we can, to say exactly how they feel

Tbh I'd leave the special food till she's a bit better, and skip a meal then give her just plain boiled/cooled rice, a little at a time, for half a day at least.
It doesn't do any harm at all and gives their tum a rest.
It's the same as we'd do for a human/child and usually works.

I'm sure she'll be fine; we've had a couple of episodes of unidentified somethings (bug/whatever) with several of the dogs who use the same field.
Now that Minnie has no immunity we don't use the field any more, it's too much of a risk for her, but it's a bit like lots of children being in the same space isn't it - plus dogs do tend to be horribly fascinated by other dogs' backsides/poo, etc

She is terribly quiet, not eating but drinking, and we had a very quiet night. She doesn't seem in pain, no 'runs' yet so fingers crossed. She smells to high heaven though, a most peculiar smell! We are both a bit worried, but maybe not as worried as we were last night.
